As it is the first ATP Masters 1000 of the year you can expect many big names to be entering.

With Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal unable to play, Carlos Alcaraz is the favorite at No.1 seed. But the likes of Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas aren’t going to make it easy for him.

What to do in Indian Wells

Indian Wells California

The main attraction in Indian Wells is the Indian Wells Tennis Garden which is home to the BNP Paribas Open however, there are other things you can do whilst staying in Indian Wells. It is also a three-hour drive from Los Angeles which you could visit at some point as well.

Indian Wells Golf Club

There are many great golf courses in Indian Wells but my favorite is the Indian Wells Golf Club.

It is kept in immaculate condition without well-maintained greens and fairways. The surroundings are stunning with the mountains in the background and palm trees all over the course. The courses are also a good challenge for any experienced golfer but are friendly enough that you’ll still have fun.

The golf club has a lovely restaurant and bar which is perfect for after a round on the course. There is also a golf pro shop with everything you could wish for from standard apparel to very high-end equipment.

If you get the chance to play here, it is definitely worth it.

Indian Canyons Tour

Explore Palm Springs’ Indian Canyons with this Indian Canyons Tour.

A tour guide will pick you up in a jeep and take you on a hiking tour to the ancestral home of the Cahuilla tribes. You will get to admire the vast desert landscape as you ride along the rocky terrain whilst your tour guide teaches you about the rich history of the Cahuilla.

You will then take a short walk in the canyons where you will get to see traces of Native American settlements as well as a desert oasis.

This is a great experience and a good opportunity to get some photos to send back home.

Hot Air Balloon Ride in Indian Wells

Finish off the trip with a hot air balloon ride in Indian Wells.

You will get to see the amazing views over the Californian desert. This is the perfect place to do a hot air balloon ride if you’ve never done it before.

I’d definitely recommend doing it at either sunrise or sunset.

How is the Weather in Indian Wells?

March is a great time of year to visit Indian Wells as it is typically a lot cooler. You can expect highs of around 27°C and lows of around 12°C.

Make sure to stay protected from the sun at all times with suncream and hats as you are still in the desert so it will be hot.
