The Mexican Open (also known as the Abierto Mexicano Telcel) is an ATP 500 tournament played in Acapulco. Over the years the tournament has seen many great champions such as Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and many more.
Introduced in 1993, it soon became a hit on the ATP Tour with many fans coming from all over the world to visit the tournament and stay in the beautiful Acapulco.
That is why I have made this tournament guide so you can plan your next trip to the Mexican Open 2023 and enjoy the stunning surroundings of this amazing city.

Where is the Mexican Open Played?
The Mexican Open is an outdoor, hard court tournament played at the Arena GNP Seguros in Acapulco, Mexico.
The Arena GNP Seguros main court stadium is one of the biggest venues for an ATP 500 event with a seating capacity of 10,501.
When is the Mexican Open Played?
The Mexican Open starts on the 27th of February 2023 and finishes on the 4th of March 2023.
The qualifying takes place the week prior on the 25th and 26th of February 2023.

How Do I Get Mexican Open Tickets?
There are a few different ticket packages available for the Mexican Open 2023.
Full Series: These will give you access to all the matches across the whole week so you don’t miss a single bit of the action.
Weekend Series: These will give you access to all the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals matches across the weekend.
Monday – Wednesday Series: These will give you access to all the matches in the earlier stages of the tournament.
All ticket packages will give you access to the Main Stadium and access to Grandstand Caliente MX and alternative courts. You will also get access to the commercial area and food court.

How is the Weather in Acapulco?
Acapulco has a very tropical climate with good weather all year round.
February/March is during the dry season in Acapulco so you can expect warm temperatures with very little rain. Expect highs of around 29°C and lows of around 21°C. This makes it the perfect temperature for exploring the city and relaxing at the beach.
Remember to stay protected from the sun at all times with suncream and hats.
