Bio
Jack Draper was born on 22 December 2001 and is Great Britain’s newest tennis star.
Jack was born in Sutton, England and was introduced to the sport by his parents. His father, Roger Draper, is the former chief executive of Sport England and the Lawn Tennis Association and his mother, Nicky Draper, is a former junior British Tennis Champion.
Growing up, Jack had a successful junior career reaching a career-high ranking of world No.7 and even reached the 2018 Wimbledon Championships Boys’ Singles final where he lost in a tight match to Tseng Chun-Hsin.
A few years later, Jack Draper made his ATP debut at the 2021 Miami Open however he had to retire in the first round after collapsing on the court due to a heat-related illness.
Later that year, Draper played at the Queen’s Club Championships with hopes of impressing his home crowd. In the first round, Jack secured his biggest victory defeating world No.23 Jannik Sinner. In the round of 16, he also beat Alexander Bublik to reach his first-ever quarterfinals at an ATP event. However, he lost to fellow countryman Cameron Norrie in the quarters.
In 2022, Draper continued his run of good form and reached his first-ever ATP-level semifinal at the ATP 250 event in Eastbourne. A couple of months later, Jack Draper secured his biggest win defeating world No.5 Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets at the Canadian Open and even went on to reach the quarterfinals of the event. He also qualified for the 2022 Next Generational ATP Finals where he reached the semifinals after beating the No.1 seed Lorenzo Musetti.
At the beginning of 2023, Jack Draper reached another ATP 250 semifinal at the Adelaide International 2 but lost to eventual champion Soonwoo Kwon. His ranking now sits at world No.38 which is the highest he has achieved in his career.
I believe that 2023 is going to be a big year for Jack Draper and, as a fellow Brit, hope to see him secure some titles this year.
Net Worth
In Jack Draper’s short career, he has made $1,201,085 in prize money so far.
However, Draper is also sponsored by various different brands who will pay him for endorsing their products.
Whilst we don’t know exactly what Jack’s net worth is, I think it’s fair to say it’s around $1.5 million. But as he continues to achieve good results, his net worth will increase.
Gear
Jack Draper is currently sponsored by Dunlop and relies on them for his rackets, bags, overgrips and many more accessories. Below is a list of all the gear he uses:
Racket: Dunlop FX 500
Strings: Unknown
Bag: Dunlop FX Performance 12-Pack Bag
Overgrips: Tourna Grip
Like many other professional tennis players, Jack Draper actually uses a customized version of an existing racket. He uses the Dunlop Srixon Revo CV 3.0 with a paint job to look like the Dunlop FX 500. This is because Draper is paid to endorse the Dunlop FX 500 but wants to stick with a racket he feels comfortable with.
Apparel
Jack Draper is currently sponsored by Nike for all of his tennis clothes such as shoes, hats, t-shirts, shorts and many more accessories.
Nike is the most popular tennis clothing brand on the market right now.
Many players’ outfits will change throughout the year, normally around the time of a Grand Slam to promote a new design.
For shoes, Jack Draper is currently using the Nike Vapor Pro 11s which is a new tennis shoe made by Nike. Personally, I love the design and hope to see more colorways released in the future.
Endorsements
Apart from Nike and Dunlop, Jack Draper is also an ambassador for Vodafone which is a telecommunications company.
You’ll often see him promoting the company in television and social media advertisements and sometimes even promoting the Vodafone logo on his gear.
