Adelaide International Tournament Guide 2023
The Adelaide International is one of the only tournaments to feature two ATP and WTA events back-to-back: Adelaide International 1 and Adelaide International 2.
It is also one of the lead-up tournaments to the first grand slam of the year, the Australian Open.
I’ve put together this 2023 tournament guide so you can learn everything about the Adelaide International and prepare for the start of the 2023 ATP season.

Where is the Adelaide International Played?
The Adelaide International is an outdoor tennis tournament that is played at the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre in Adelaide, South Australia.
The Memorial Drive Tennis Centre is located in the centre of Adelaide and the main court stadium has a seating capacity of 5,000.
When is the Adelaide International Played?
Last year was the first year that introduced the two back-to-back Adelaide International tournaments. These were called Adelaide International 1 and Adelaide International 2.
Adelaide International 1 will begin on January 1st 2023 and will finish on January 8th 2023.
Adelaide International 2 will begin on January 9th 2023 and will finish on January 14th 2023.

Who’s Playing in the Adelaide International in 2023?
The Adelaide International has a very strong lineup for the 2023 event.
In Adelaide International 1 we have 21 grand slam champion Novak Djokovic as the top seed as well as Felix Auger-Aliassime, Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev filling in the other top 4 spots.
But it doesn’t stop there, Holger Rune, Jannik Sinner and many more great players are competing in the first week of the Adelaide International.
For the Adelaide International 2 there are also many great names such as Pablo Carreno Busta, Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev once again as the top seed.
Oh yeah, and how could I forget about home favorite Nick Kyrgios competing in the second week of the tournament as well.

The total prize money for the Adelaide International 1 is $642,735 which is a 54.2% increase compared to 2022.
The total prize money for the Adelaide International 2 is also $642,735 however the breakdown is different with the champion receiving slightly more compared to the tournament in the first week.

How Do I Get Adelaide International Tickets?
There are a couple of different ticket packages you can buy for the Adelaide International
Standard Tickets: These are your standard tickets with allocated seats in the venue. These will range in price anywhere from $10 – $100 depending on where your seats are and what day you have bought for.
VIP Tickets: These will give you premium seating in the brand new Eastern Stand in the stadium and you’ll also get access to the exclusive bar in The Courtside Room. Prices of the VIP tickets start at $50 for the earlier days of the tournament and can range all the way up to $300 for semi-finals and finals day as this package will also include free food and beverages.

Adelaide is a beautiful places with many high-end and budget-friendly hotels for you to stay in. As the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre is located in the centre of Adelaide, you will have no trouble getting transport to the venue.

How is the Weather in Adelaide?
The Adelaide International takes place during January which is in the middle of summer for Australia.
However temperature in Adelaide won’t get as hot as they do in other parts of Australia so don’t expect blistering heats. You should still expect temperatures in the high 20’s°C and very little rain.
It is also very important you stay protected from the sun as you will be exposed for long periods of the day so make sure you come prepared with hats, sunglasses and suncream.
